Advanced
Target Search Technology (ATST)
The Omnistar Autoresponder software includes the power of
Advanced Target Search Technology, which allows you to make
target lists quickly and easily. ATST technology is a poweful
way to segment email list members into different subcategories,
making marketing to subgroups simple. Once you see the way
that ATST has made marketing faster, more effective, and less
time consuming, you will know you need it too!
The concept behind it is simple to implement. When you add
custom fiends (like zip code, birth day, or gender) and collect
the pertinent information from individuals signing up for
your email list, you will be able to use the information they
entered to select, for example, men under 21 in Chicago. You
will be able to save your search results as a target list,
and will then be able to send email campaigns that are oriented
to this specific demographic. In other words, ATST lets you
direct your marketing to only those individuals likely to
have an interest in your marketing copy. By combining this
feature with Autoresponder's Automatic
Response system, your system will handle your marketing
without you having to lift a finger!
Why should I use ATST?
Our ATST implementation allows you to set your own parameters
for your searches segmenting lists, this means your options
for using this feature are virtually limitless! You can get
as much out of ATST as you put into it, just make sure you
are using the fields users enter when they register wisely.
If you don't feel you are getting enough information, collect
more. You can add fields as often as you like, and when you
add new fields you can even send out emails to current list
subscribers who haven't entered the info, and ask them to
provide it as well.

Why
to Try |
| Birth Date |
Sepperating by birthdate allows you
to send out monthly emails that wish subscribers a happy
birthday. Online cards make customers feel like you
are paying attention to them, especially if you offer
special birthday sales in these emails. |
| Interest Group |
Asking customers for their interests
provides you with exactly what every company wants,
a list of customers who have given you a specific description
of what they want out of your company. Simply send them
emails related to products that match their interest
and your emails will be much more likely to find marketing
success. |
| Date Subscribed |
If you sent out a mailer last month
that was very succesful, and you suddenly have a lot
more members on your mailing list, wouldnt you want
to send this same advertising copy to your new subscribers?
By screening based on date subscribed, you can avoid
duplicate emails and still get your best content out
to all your subscribers. |
| Location |
If you are opperating
in a large number of states and want to advertise specific
locations' sales or specials, you may want to create
an email that goes to only people in that area. This
way, your other list members don't feel like they are
being spammed with email they don't feel is relevant. |
| First Letter of Last Name |
Another technique you may want to try
is sending different versions of advertising copy to
different groups segmented by an arbitrary difference,
such as the first letter of their last name. This way
you will be able to track how different advertising
methods work, and compare how different populations
respond. |
| Email Address Domain |
Different email applications treat email
differently. If you screen email recipients based on
their email domain, sending different versions to AOL
members, Yahoo! subscribers, Gmail members, and then
general members, you will be able to ensure your emails
appear correctly in each email recipient's mailbox.
Sending specific emails allows you to get the right
content to the right people. For some other tricks to
email marketing, check out our Email
Marketing for Beginners ebook.) |
| Mix & Match |
Don't just use one approach to your
marketing, take each of these ideas and implement them!
ATST means you will even be able to search based on
multiple parameters and make target lists that combine
the above concepts to make your marketing as specific
as possible. |
